Bio for Christopher Westin Chris

Hi special friends. I am so glad you’ve dropped by. I am one half of  It’s Good to Know People. Some people say the better half (LOL!!!). Just kidding Bev.

I was born and raised in Kenora, Ontario. A beautiful northern town with lots of helpful grounded folk. My parents, Peggy and Fred, emigrated from England. They came over on a big ship while my mum was preggers with me. I guess that’s where I get my sea legs.  If you look closely on my buttock you can see a stamp that’s says “Made in England, Born in Canada”.

When I was eighteen I won the Kiwanis Kid’s Performance Award for my Sammy Davis Jr. tribute. Soon after I started playing the guitar. Then one day, home sick from school, I saw a man on TV that would change my life forever: John Davidson from That’s Incredible.  It was then I fell in love with talking.

For all the wonderful opportunities in Kenora it wasn’t long before I had an itch for something new. I quit my job at the old folks home and moved west to the gem of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, British Columbia. The little city that’s got a lot country.

It was here that I really began to focus on my talking. Quick to express my thoughts and passions I found myself involved deeply with the community. During a Town Hall debate involving the Senior Citizen Movement I met Beverly PoCock and as they say… the rest is Christory!

Thanks so much for getting to know me and remember it’s easy to hear but it is harder to listen.

Bio for Beverley PoCock bev

Bev loves entercation: that mix between between fun and learning. And he loves people. “If I’m with people I’m smiling!! I love humanity and I just don’t get why there are so many people who want to have war-times ;p (LoL!!!!!!!). We should get to know one another and learn things!!!!”

Bev was born in Pickerington, Ontario where he first caught the entertaining bug. At the annual Carribean Daze Bev hit the stage for the first time as a Bob Marley Dancer and never looked back. He studied performance technique at the Pickerington Centre for Acting and Dramatics. His first job was at a dinner theatre where he wowed audiences for eight years as Skimbleshanks in the tribute show Catz: The Dinner Musical.

Beverley is ecstatic to call Abbotsford, B.C. home and even more excited to call Chris Wes his best friend and his co-pilot on Canada’s friendliest variety hour!

Bio for Donnie Furgill – Albertan Security Guard Donny Furgill

Donnie’s been in the public eye for years. He started at the Calgary Stampede running the Wack-A-Mole and serving ice cream at Dickie Dee’s. He got his first break when they were short a man to work backstage security at the BTO concert (He actually met C.F. Turner!) He’s never looked back!

Donnie is an expert with pylons, gaffer tape and people. He has also done security at the PNE, on Film sets and construction sites. But his favourite gig is securing the parametres at I.G.T.K.P. It has brought out Donnie’s first Love which is Cowboy Poetry. And he just loves sharing it with his good friends Chris & Bev.
